Eileen, the Costa Rica trip I was on was actually because of you. I had seen your shots from Costa Rica. Right now I am posting the trip on Instagram, both the Travel and Bird accounts, see the list below, soo many memories pop up. It is amazing how much you remember when you see the shots you took many years ago. :)

This is an image I took on my trip to Teton Range and Yellowstone 2 years ago. The little calf eventually managed to go under the fence to it´s waiting mother.

Blakiston´s fish owl

The top image is snowing visible in the light. there was a special light that we could see but that did not disturb the owls. The owls was wild so you could never be really sure if they arrived. We did see 2 of them, a family of 4.

I think the pattern of the snow was due to the light that was "blinking" rapidly. Not sure how it worked.
