This week I have been visiting a birdfeeder in a nearby town. So, there will be more images to share later on. Today I have limited time. I will check on my exhibition and there will also be two other art exhibitions opening today. So, my day is filled. Our restrictions are lifted so there will be regular openings with vernissage today. Will be nice for a change. Hope everyone is fine.

Birds

On top: European Robin
Center: Jackdaw
bottom: Hooded crow

The Robin was a cool shot for me. I arrived at a place to see if the feeder was started. It wasn´t. I was just prepared tp leave when I noticed movements at this birdhouse. I quickly lifted the camera and was able to get two shots. Once at home I saw who it was. A sweet Robin. :) And sharp enough to share. Sometimes the camera works with me. 😀

The Jackdows, they are everywhere. I don´t often photograph them. But this time it was a nice sight on the road beside the tree.

The Hooded crow is a common bird. Still hard to capture as it is very aware of humans.

The deers are back, but it has been too dark to get any shots. And they dont let me come close either. Guess they have to get used to me again.

I hope everyone is healthy and not too cold. We only had a hint of snow so far. But it is quite chilly.

Visited by The Comma

I found a lone butterfly in the grass. Turned out to be a The Comma.
From what I can see about them this is probably the last one of the second generation this summer. My book says that second generation is darker then the first one. That is why I was a bit confused at first.
A bit to chilly for it I think as it stayed on my hand that long. It even checked out if there was something for it to eat on my finger. Guess it was disappointed.

This is the pond at ÖV where I normally see at least a couple of birds. This day it was totally empty. Not even a single Mallard was there or on the part on the other side of the road I am standing on. Beautiful but dead. This is also the place where I used to see deers. But they too are gone now. Probably because of the harvest and the cutting down the forests around this area.

Seems like I will have to go down Memory Lane if I want to continue to join Critters. Well, I have lots of memories. 😀 But they don´t give me any exercise.

Take care everyone and hope wildlife comes back!

My blue eyed friend!
I have followed this cat since she was a kitten. I love her blue eyes and her colors. She is very sweet and I have never seen her more then a few meters from her home. So, she is not a hunter. But she is soo hard to get good shots of. As soon as she gets close, she don´t leave you until you walk away too far from her home. Then she goes back!

These cows was actually eating of the bark on the timber.
From the look of the logs these really needed to come down. But I don´t think this is due to the Bark beetle problem. They are just old!

Birds and deer

Top row: Red-backed Shrike feeding young
Bottom: dove and Western jackdaw

The fallow deer ladies are finally seen again with their new young. And they are already two months old and half grown. I faild to see newborn again.  It seems to me the females spend the summer in high grass or the forest, alone with their new born. That makes them impossible to see.

I hope everyone is still fine and healthy.
Wheather wise Sweden seem to be a bit shaky right now. We have got some of the floods as Central Europe suffer from. But not that severe. On my walk yesterday the weather changed from fine to thunder storm in minutes. Luckily I noticed the clouds comming up so I turned around halfway. I just got a bit wet. On my way home I passed two rather large branches on the road. But no fallen trees.

Tiny winged ones

Finally some insects are out, even if I am no fan of some of them I like to see them as they should be there. The Humblebee is well known, they are here even if not the same number as "usual".
The yellow one seem to be Mayetiola in English or scientific language. In Swedish it is Corn moskito.
The longlegged one,  Long-bodied craneflie, I found in my bathtub. They visit every year.
Last one is a favorite among butterflies: Large skipper

That´s all for today, I will go a bit north to visit my daughter and her family.
It is "Midsummer" day today and they are going to barbeque, so I hope rain is not pouring down.
Take care everyone and enjoy your weekend.

Fun with the sun and the dragonflies

Well, had some fun with it. I thought the moon would center the sun but it came just on top of it. So, I was dissappointed. And my camera jusat can´t do the shots everyone wants to share. But that kind of images is easy to create in Photoshop. 😂 So, I played around. A girl need some fun, right?
I took the backgroudn shot and the two upper sky ones with my phone without risking my eyes.
The lower BW image was with my LUMIX set as dark as possible. And I made some PS work too. The eagle was seen that day too,

Draonflies at the rape-field, lots and lots of them

Hope everyone is fine. Kids are out of school for summer holidays. And Sweden is opening up a bit more now so people are quite happy.

Cranes and ducklings

Common crane wit chicks.
This is what I got from the cranes. They managed to hatch two chicks and I could watch them for two days. Now they are out wandering the lands. I have seen the parents but the chicks are still too small and are not visible in the grass. This was a fun experience.

In another pond close to the one above I was very surprised one day. Lots and lots of
Mallard chicks and no adult visible. Daycare center???
Well, I did not have to wait long for the answer. A car came and stopped beside me. And a guy
saying, are you watching them for me??

I have talked to him before, he is working on the mansion that keeps the deers. He had released the chicks in the pond the day before and came to watch them and care for them. So, these are not "wild" they were hatched in a barn. There is plenty of room for them as there are very few of the other birds that normally stays there to breed.

I was lucky to see this beautiful couple on one of my walks.

I hope everyone is safe. I have recieved vaccine shot no two earlier this week. So, now I can soon hug my daughter and grandchildren.

Birds and deers

Top row is a Black bird male strolling around in our city park.
The crane is stll at the nest. It is two weeks now since I noticed it. Can I hope for some reddish chicks the coming week?? That would be fun. But I would not mind if they came a bit closer. This is the best my camera can do.

Driving I noticed these guys on a field, taking a nap after lunch. Sneaking up behind trees I was able to take a few shots before they noticed me. Sometimes I feel a bit bad disturbing them this way.
They could not have seen or heard me, I think they smell me. 😅
