From what I can see about them this is probably the last one of the second generation this summer. My book says that second generation is darker then the first one. That is why I was a bit confused at first.
A bit to chilly for it I think as it stayed on my hand that long. It even checked out if there was something for it to eat on my finger. Guess it was disappointed.
This is the pond at ÖV where I normally see at least a couple of birds. This day it was totally empty. Not even a single Mallard was there or on the part on the other side of the road I am standing on. Beautiful but dead. This is also the place where I used to see deers. But they too are gone now. Probably because of the harvest and the cutting down the forests around this area.
Seems like I will have to go down Memory Lane if I want to continue to join Critters. Well, I have lots of memories. 😀 But they don´t give me any exercise.
Take care everyone and hope wildlife comes back!

Hello,
ReplyDeleteBeautiful butterfly, it must have liked your finger. Pretty view of the pond, could birds be hidden in the grasses. Sending you some good luck on finding some critters. Thank you for linking up and sharing your post. Take care, have a happy weekend. PS, thank you for your visit and comment.
I am sure the Comma appreciated the warmth of your finger,
ReplyDeleteAmazing that deer would be deterred — so many of them live in part of our town, and eat garden plants. So they usually aren’t scared away by development. Same for mallards.
ReplyDeletebest… mae at maefood.blogspot.com
The butterfly is beautiful and how amazing to have it land on your hand! WOW!
ReplyDeleteThe butterfly is amazing.
ReplyDeleteThe scenery is beautiful with the fall colors.
Greetings Irma
Must have been such a pleasure to see the butterfly land on your hand, it's one of my favourites. The pond is a beautiful scene, and I love the colours.
ReplyDeleteTake care, and enjoy your weekend.
I've seen very few of them this year!
ReplyDeleteI've never seen a butterfly like that before, I wish we got other varieties.
ReplyDeleteLindas mariposas. Te mando un beso
ReplyDeleteIt's sad without finding critters in this area. The landscape is such a fantastisc place. Calm there and mood.
ReplyDeleteI read about the Comma... The butterfly gets its name from the only white marking on its underside, which resembles a comma and he looks wonderful in your finger, Monica.
Happy MosaicMonday
Friendly, beautiful butterfly. I hope it gets to make its migration before it is too late.
ReplyDeleteSuch a beautiful butterfly.
ReplyDeleteThe pond looks lovely, I like your photograph.
All the best Jan
Monica - a lovely Comma. At this time of year in Montana, some animals seem to go into hiding - they know it is hunting season! Thanks for linking to Mosaic Monday!
ReplyDeleteAwesome
ReplyDeleteHow cool to have it land on your hand!
ReplyDeleteLoving your beautiful photos as always, Monica.
The pond scene is so tranquil.
ReplyDeleteWorth a Thousand Words
thanks!
ReplyDeleteI haven't seen many commas this year! Happy to see yours.
ReplyDeleteThe Comma is so pretty. So are those trees in its fall colors.
ReplyDeleteI hope the deer and ducks return to the area.
Have a good weekend, M.
