Last week I created a blue forest for my art but was not that satisfied with it. Today I turned it to grey scale and used it as backdrop for  The animal kingdom mosaic. 😉

I have not seen the Grey wagtail for several weeks but this week it turned upp again and it has chicks. I have not seen them of course as they are inside the opening where the parent stays with food.

The horses are grazing at Lake Yngaren. An hours drive from home.

The butterfly is a Silver-washed fritillary  - Silverstreckad pärlemorfjäril

Critters at Björkvik

True beauties.

The mare seem to be bowing to the foal 😀

I am not sure what kind of horse these two are. They are rather small but not as a pony. .

Swifts! I can still catch them with my old Canon. Despite it is way to heavy nowadays. I, kind of, use it to measure my condition. Can I catch them, I am still OK. They are soo fast! I did see two of them flying into nests.

A few sheep in a pasture

Meadow brown - Slåttergräsfjäril

A visit to Björkvik´s old Church ruin. This is a place about one hours drive from my home. I go there in summer when I want to see swifts and nice horses. It is located at the shore of Lake Yngaren and a very beautiful place. They take good care of it and it is still used for outdoor meetings. Well, not this year though.
The horses are grazing in meadows behind me.

I think I skip explaining my images this week. They are all manipulated in different ways in camera and in Photoshop. I hope you like what you see.
Enjoy! And have a great week.

Winged ones

Horned grebe done molting. Not that much beauty anymore

The chick at the head, Hardly seen.

Horned grebe pair lost two of the eggs but one was hatched.
It is hard to see the chick as they swim on the other side of the lake and it is impossible to get good shots with the camera I have. At least I see them.

Two of the best shots ever I have of the snipe/enkelbeckasin.
It is soon time for them to return south so I have to go looking for them. Hopefully some  will turn up.  © NF Photo 150809

Coot! Full speed ahead!

Chimney sweeper - Sotmätare
I have seen this one in "normal" numbers.

Holly blue - Tosteblåvinge
These are usually seen in large numbers. This year I have only seen two. And this one looks worn out.

MM Deers are back

Yes, the deer´s are back. They were scared off as there has been lots of work for drainage on the field where I mostly see them. Guess the owner thinks it was too wet for agriculture.

All the deer´s on the images are males. Everyone except for the small image on top are fallow deer. Yes,  they come in two colors. Red and black. The top images shows older bucks. the bottom seem to be young ones.

The one in the small image on top row are a Red deer buck. The tallest of them all. This is a deer I rarely see. I could see 5 of them but spread out and it was raining and I was sitting in the car, so this was the only good shot I got.

I did not see any females this week, and so far I have not seen any babies at all.

Critters this week

Alone in the field, a roe deer. I was lucky to see it in the flowering meadow.

Yellow shell moth -  Gulvingad fältmätare
A small moth you need to see where it lands. Otherwise you don´t find it.

Adult and juv Northern lapwing keeping their distance.  C-style!

Still no chicks in the nest. So far I have been able to see three eggs. But they never seem to hatch. And the pair is molting. So my fear is they might go south before the chicks are ready.
Time will tell.

MM First week of July

© NF Photo 200706

This week,
First row: I visited my neighbor, Hanna, at her allotment. She was working with warp braiding (not sure of the translation here)
Splashing water from the fountain in the last row at Ericsberg´s Castle
Center: a rose in the castle garden. The park area at one of the entrances to my hometown. A common Linnet I encountered when birding.
Bottom: Ericsberg´s castle. Located about 20 km from my town.
