A quick stop at a river.

Brown Dipper - Brun strömstare

Early morning, cold and misty. Hard to catch the bird.

And my little friend, the White-throated dipper - Strömstare

As far as I know there are three kinds of dippers in the world and I have seen them.

There are also a lot of subspecies. But those I have not seen.

The little fella in the video, is the one from the image above. As I have no tripod, and a phone is quite tricky when it is windy you might be a bit dizzy. But I think you survive. I did. 😂

I like both photos as beautiful nature photos. They have the feeling of a fairytale.
The stream seems more powerful and wild then it really is 😊

Fallow deer in the first snow.
This was the best photo my camera could make. They are far off to the other side of a very wet and muddy field. Impossible to walk on if you don´t want 2 kg dirt on your boots. Maybe that is why they always stay close to forest edge. Not that muddy and easy to run off.

This one is still alone. No friens showing up and now winter is here.

The fieldfare was very active this day. Searching for berries,

Mostly dippers

I like the posture it has in this shot 😀

The White-throated Dipper is fun to watch but so fast it is actually tricky to catch it. It is like: once you see it then you don´t. It has a habit of disappearing as soon as you pull the trigger. Luckily with digital it is not expensive to take a lot of shots.
Still only one bird seen.

There are only one wren at this place that I have seen. It is quick and like to hide in the bushes beside the stream. I saw it flying and where it landed. Pointed my camera and hoped for the best. The image is highly enlarged so I had to look close to see it in the image. And it is sharp! A lucky shot! But sometimes you have to bee lucky 😀💖

Rainy and foggy days critters

Dipper, still. only one has come. Upclose the fog is not visible.

Fallow deer
Bad sighting due to fog and a very muddy field. I did not go there thid day. Makes me wonder how it feels for them to sleep in that dirt?

The first Bohemian waxwing turned up in a treetop outside my balcony. I think the second one, among the branches, is a Great tit.

We still need rain for the groundwaterlevel to rise but going out is not fun. 😞

I met both the bees and the dipper two days ago. Not sure the bees was aware of what month it still is. There are no flowers for them to feed upon.
The Dipper was very kind to me this day. Best shots I got for two years.

Winter birds at the stream

Winter wren

I was lucky to see a Winter wren today. I rarely do. It is so hard to catch with the new Lumix camera. The bird is much faster then the camera. Camera has to do too much thinking instead of reacting. :( Not good for fast moving birds.
