Early morning, cold and misty. Hard to catch the bird.
And my little friend, the White-throated dipper - Strömstare

As far as I know there are three kinds of dippers in the world and I have seen them.
There are also a lot of subspecies. But those I have not seen.
.
The little fella in the video, is the one from the image above. As I have no tripod, and a phone is quite tricky when it is windy you might be a bit dizzy. But I think you survive. I did. 😂
Take care everyone from both Corona and Politics.

Hello,
ReplyDeleteThe Dippers are a great find! I think your White-throated Dipper is prettier than the US Dipper. But, both are great birds to see. I enjoyed the video. Thank you for linking up and sharing your post. Take care, stay safe! Enjoy your weekend! PS, thank you for leaving me a comment.
Hello. A White throated dipper is the most wonderful of all these dippers.
ReplyDeleteGreat serie of dippers!
I like how you finished this....take care from Corona and politics! Isn't that the truth! Love this cute Dipper...fun to watch him in action! Hugs!
ReplyDeleteI've never seen a Dipper. Interesting little birds. Hope you are having a great weekend so far!
ReplyDeleteLove the last one! Your water shots are impressive.
ReplyDeleteThese images are from a cellphone? Striking. I'm hoping beyond hope politics & pandemic are over soon!! And, we all come out from it unscathed...
ReplyDeleteThis week, I want to send my thanks to you for sharing your post with us birders!
the video are cellphone. The photos are a camera.
DeleteDippers are the most wonderful little birds and captivate even the indifferent casual observer. Of the five species in the world the only one I have not experienced is the Rufous-fronted Dipper of northern Argentina/southern Bolivia, and at this stage of my life, especially with the pandemic preventing travel, I doubt that I ever will.
ReplyDeleteOh those dippers are amazing! Never seen them! :)
ReplyDeleteCute little birds, gosh they're game sitting in the midst of that wild water.
ReplyDeletethanks!
ReplyDeleteI never even heard of dipper birds before this summer. Your video's pretty neat. Is the bird eating off the bottom of the stream when it is in it?
ReplyDeletethey find larvas or some kind of insects I think.
DeleteA sweet little bird, beautiful photos! I really enjoyed your video.
ReplyDeletehanks!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful photos! I love dippers, and see them regularly along the rivers in Edinburgh
ReplyDeleteDe er så fine :) Kjempebra bilder og film!
ReplyDeleteFossekallen er faktisk norges nasjonalfugl. Jeg bor rett ved en foss hvor de finnes, men har aldri greid å ta bilde eller film av dem.
Love your water shots! Those dippers are fascinating!
ReplyDeleteThey are gorgeous little creatures!
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing your link at 'My Corner of the World' this week!
