Well. at least I think these are aspens.  What I was fascinated of was the totally black leaves that dotted the trees. A little darker and misty and you would have been in a scary movie. :)

The fen in the forest

About 20 km away from where I live there is this fen in the forest. Lots of moss and grass. Sometimes wet and sometimes dry. I like it. Visiting this place is like being moved to the northern part of Sweden. It is tricky to walk in it as it is very soft, almost like walking in clouds.  You need to be careful so you don´t sprain your ankle. :)

This is my favorite tree of all in my town. It grows in a garden I can pass when I go to town. And I mostly chose that street only to see the tree. It took a couple of years before I realised it was a lilac. Guess I was fooled by the gorgeous trunk. It does not look like the usual lilac bushes.

Today I take you to Queensland, a place I visited in September 2014.
Believe it or not, but this is a rain forest in the middle of an, almost, desert. It did not take long to drive from one to the other. This was early morning. Before the mist lifted. And we were to look for early birds. The trees was beautiful but I can´t tell you what kind of trees they are. There are more to see in my Travel Blog. Chambers Lodge  or Australia
