This Fallow deer buck was watching me for a while before it took off, not to be seen again.

Fallow deer are back. Have no clue where they have been during the summer.

This week was pretty unusual to me. I saw raptors two days in a row. But I realized this is the time of year when the offspring is on it´s wings. And at this time they are more visible. I did see 3 birds flying of both the eagle and the buzzard. Parents and the offspring. 

It is fun but you have to be lucky, being close to forest edge they come and go out of vision. And you really have to be fast to catch them. Especially when today´s cameras have a mind of it´s own 😠

A grey morning for a change

This was a grey morning and I woke up early. I went out for a trip anyway and was rewarded greatly.
First I saw a male moose. Don´t think I have ever seen any. Only cows an young ones.

After driving a bit I spotted deer on a field. I stopped the car and went out to get closer to them following the edge of a forest. Took me about 20 min I think. I realized it was Red deer this time. A deer I never seen up close before. This was a male with 5 females. When the male thought I got too close he told me so. So I stopped and started to go back.

Then something was visible above my head. A White-tailed
eagle was circling above my head. A bad place for an eagle to be I think. It was hard to follow it when it was above me and I was on a harvested field. Luckily I did not fall.

Then I started to look for Raven, as there are almost always ravens close to the eagles. And it was.
Then I had been out for about 3 h without breakfast so I drove home to get something to eat.

I was walking from the parking lot to the building I live in when I spotted something in the air. Two White-tailed Eagles was dancing over the buildings. The moon was up and one of them moved in that direction. So I crossed my fingers. YES. it flew straight over the moon.

This  seems to me to be an Osprey steeling a fish from the Eagle. But then looses it so none of them get the fish.

Finally the birds are coming back. The one in the top shot is a White-tailed Eagle.
In the  second shot...it´s not a bird, it´s a biker. :)
