Hornborgasjön is famous for the "Cranedance" during migration in spring. Lots of cranes and swans at that time of year.

Walked by the old anthill on my forestwalk a couple of days ago.  This one is a mark that tells you it is a healthy forest. I´m just a bit confused whay the pigs seem to leave it alone. They destroyed many of my mushroom places. The number of ants on the ground stops me from trying to get closeups.

This little snake, we call snok, tried to get up the side, but of course, it can´t climb a concrete side like this so, it ended in the water below. Flushed away. It was looking for fish.

This snake lives mostly on fish so you fine it rather easy at a strem or lake. It has no poisen and are very curious. It has many color variations from brown to black. All except for the black had the white pattern on the head.

I liked the pattern the foam gave the top snake. The lower one just catched it´s lunch, a perch.

This snake is special to me. If I have a spirit animal, it should be this one.

NatureFootstep har Paddlat - was Kayaking

Swimming Snok, NF Photo 110707 in Djulö Lake. SOOC

I was out kayaking the other day. My first encounter was this Snok. A harmless snake that lieks to take a swim. It did not seem to like the company as it headed for land.

Then I headed for the waterlilies. One of the persons living by the lake has planted both the white and red ones. None of them native to the lake. But so beautiful.

After the lilies I have to turn back but chooses the other shore. And that was good because I met the beauty of the lake, a family of Great Crested Grebe. If you look closely you find a newly hatched young on the back of the last one.

Last but not least, a Banded Demoiselle  landed on my kayak and rested for a while.

Back to the kayak landing there were some people. I asked them if they wanted to take my pic and they did. So, here I am in my kayak. :)
