Wildlife in my files

I think this is a muskrat - Bisamråtta. This was the only time I know I have seen it. It is not native to Sweden.   Saw it in Kvismaren, a Nature reserve.

Red-necked grebe - Gråhakedopping
A rare bird to see in Sweden. And when I see it it is way to far out on the lake.

Today I have been diving in my files. It is quite fun actually. This is old shots but I have probably not posted them. The curlew and the grebe is shot with a 500 mm lens so not a too good quality compared with todays shots.

  2. It does look like a Muskrat. As you point out it is not native outside of North America. Perhaps it was introduced years ago for commercial purposes; its pelt was highly valued when people still wore animal furs.
