Finally the ice is almost gone. The birds starts to arrive, but so far, in small numbers. The deer finally comes out in the open. They have been very shy this winter.

I was driving on a small country road when I suddenly noticed some small ones at the side. One adult tock to the air and shouted to the newly hatched ones to be careful. They did not understand much so they walked around until I got too close then they hid themselves. I would not be surprised if they were hatches the very same day. I was glad there was no traffic so I could get out of the car.
I did not get any good shots of the actual parents at this time so those images are a week older. Large feet and head for such timy creatures.

This made my day! Only ones before I have seen young lapwings and they were much older then these ones.

It was a strange day today. Dark thunderclouds and sunshine the whole day. It made the lapwings glitter against the dark clouds. Disturbed by the 4 eagles that was patrolling the area. A family no doubt.
