Birds and a butterfly

Mute swans in Backa lake. Nicely backlit!

Grey heron at Djulö

This was a rare sight. I see grey herons now and then but they keep staying on the other side of whatever water they visit. This was one of the cold weeks and all other lakes was frozen.

Field fare having lunch outside the building I live in. Probably one of the kids living here throw the apple away. Good for the bird.

At Eriksbergs castle about 20 km from my town they have a feeding place for Mallards.

I think this is all mallards. I did not notice any other bird.

It is, kind off, nice to go through old photos. Freshing up old memories. The photos are proof of what I have actually done. The brain have no possibility to fake the memories the photos show. Or ignore it as irrelevant! If you wonder why I write this, I read a lot of science and our brains is not trustworthy. But the photos are.

Mosaic Monday

One day I decided to hike around a nearby lake as I knew there were a couple of Mute swans. And as it had been cold for 2 weeks the forest would be frozen and not muddy and slippery to walk in. As I walked around the lake the swans was lit from different sides.

I also found out a new place where the Fallow deer bucks was resting in the snow.

And I was also lucky to catch a group of does. Normally they get lost as soon as they see a car coming. But this day it was cold and they were busy eating. I also had the sun behind me so they might have been blinded a bit. I was able to slowly walk halfway across the field before they noticed me. That have never happened before. And I was able to get a few shots.

We still have sunshine and snow where I live. And quite chilly.

Winter critters

White throated dipper!

This is not sunset shot. There is a yellow house reflecting from behind the trees.

A male bullfinch

The sturdy horses still in their pasture. By now they have a very thick coat.

The other horses at the farm are closer to the barn.

Fallow deer does

I finally got a bit closer to a herd of fallow deer hinds. The females are almost impossible to get decent shots of. There is a small area where I can park my car beside this field. But the girls always notice the car as soon as it is visible. I can´t even open the door before they are gone. This cold day they seemed very busy eating. I had the sun behind me so they might have been a bit blinded. I was able to slowly walk over half the field before they noticed me. And took off of course.

I was very happy about this!

Dogs

Todays post is about Dogs! I realised earlier today that I never see dogs waiting outside shops anymore! Probably because there are no shops anymore, and the dogs are waiting in the cars. Also I rarely see people walking them. So, where are they? I made a dogsearch in my files and found these guys below.

This is the dog welcomming me when I leave my car for service.

A little one I met a month ago. It lives at a farm with horses. He was loose without a dog-lead and folloved me at two m distance. It obviously knew the Corona- rules. I did not see the owner so for a while I thought I had to take care of it. But finally a women called on it from the house.

And this one?? It is a happening between art and photoshop.
