Saturdays Critters

I was on my way home when I spotted this dark Fallow deer buck on a clover field.

Th grey wagtail has been absent for 3 weeks but now appeared again and seem to have young. This is probably a male.

I was lucky to capture the Brimstone in mid air

I apologize to those who don´t appreciate this animal. But I think this is interesting. What appear to be blue eyes is the Snok molting it´s skin. This is my favorite snake It is a curious one and only eat fish and rats. During the years I had many lovely encounters with this species.  The small fish has finally appeared at the stream so when done molting it will hunt it´s lunch. I hope to see it then.

Mute swan

This is an image I took from across the lake. It shows about half the distance. Tornstugan is the recreation area with a birding tower. I am standing on a platform across the lake. To get to the platform I have to walk a long way through reed on a boardwalk. Don´t go there too often as it feels a bit unsafe. But most of the swans, the cormorants and some migrating ducks are in this area of the lake.

  4. That first photo of the deer is so special because of the setting. It would be a beautiful photo to try to paint. Love the swans and interesting about the snake. You've shared a nice variety today! Happy weekend.

  7. A wonderful collection and I love them all, even the molting snake. They are interesting animals (I like all reptiles, I show a lot of alligators when we are in Florida even though I know some visitors hate them). .... the wagtail is such a pretty bird and not one that lives here. I am glad they are doing well!
