This is the pathway to an old graveyard for workers at the local quarry. In the old days there was much hardship here and many died young. The old oaks witnessed it all and it seems they stand guard now.

The frozen flowers can be found on the graveyard. This is an area where those who have been cremated can be celebrated with flowers. It is a beautiful area, especially when there is snow.

Catching light at All Saints' Day

In Sweden we celebrate All Saints' Day the Saturday closest to Nov 1st. This year it was Nov 1st. Which ment it was also Halloween,a phenomenon now spreading across Sweden. In a way similar to our easter witches. :)

Well, the first image shows the area in the graveyard with graves. Almost all of them has been lit. Quite amazing I think. The second image is the area where ashes of  cremated are spread.   Both my parents are there. It is a small pond, in a lawn area, with water in it and people lit their candles all around it. It is beautiful but I always whish for frost or a little bit snow as it would be even more beautiful.
