Fallow deer
Roe deer
This roe deer female was watching me for quite a while. But she was hard to capture as is was darkening quickly.
I always wonder what the doves find to eat in the streets? Salt??

It is quite disturbing in Sweden right now. We have the Corona Omicron going on AND the regular flues. Seems to be a bit too much. I am glad I already seen my family two weeks ago when we had a little get-together. I, my daughter and her family and my sister.

Weather today is, kind of, on and off, but I will take a walk soon. If nothing else I have a postcard to send.
Wishing everyone a warm and cosy Christmas!

Hello,
ReplyDeleteYour Fallow Deer are beautiful, wonderful photos. The doves must have found something good there to eat. I am glad you had a chance to meet up with your family, Covid numbers are increasing here too. I wish you and your family a very blessed and Happy Christmas! Thank you for linking up and sharing your post. Take care, enjoy your weekend! PS, thank you for leaving me a comment.
Vakre bilder av hjortene!
ReplyDeleteJa, plutselig ble alt nedstengt igjen. Både vi og familiemedlemmer er trippelvaksinerte, så vi kan besøke hverandre. Turer i naturen er heller aldri feil!
Odd as it seems, birds actually swallow small stones and grit to help them grind up seeds in their gizzards (which work differently from human stomachs). Sometimes they also eat things they didn't mean to eat like bits of metal. Also sometimes they find tiny seeds among the stones.

As Mae says the doves are probably ingesting small pebbles that help them to grind up food in their gizzard.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful photos. Like the doe's butt juxtaposed with the snow.

What beautiful pictures of the fallow deer.
ReplyDeleteI think the pigeons eat snow to get moisture inside.
Greetings Irma
