I finally spotted a heard of female fallow deer. They seem to have moved to a new location. Too much disturbance on other places.

The first birds has arrived from the south. Whooper swans, greylag goose and canadian goose. And stationary mallards.

  2. It looks as though spring is really starting to take hold there with lots of greenery and melting snow. It is so encouraging to see the swans and geese return.

  6. I heard the first of the sandhill cranes leaving California's central valley headed north. We have both seen signs that the great spring migration has begun.

  8. You can see grass! Oh and the deer and birds … sorry - we are in the midst of another snowstorm and I can't imagine the grass ever being visible again!
