First time I was able to capture coot chicks in the nest. The chicks in the nest seem to be newly hatched, they are still wet. Not fluffy as the swimming one. I don´t think they are cute, but I find them charming.

This is a great series of images. Any capture of adults and young at the nest is an achievement and since baby coots leave the nest shortly after hatching you have done especially well.
ReplyDeleteoh they almost remind me of nz native Pukeko birds.

ReplyDeleteThese are wonderful photos Monica -- Though i see coots pretty often, I have only seen the babies swimming and that only once -- it's a miracle to find the nest! Thank you for sharing.
ReplyDeleteBrilliant. Great that you got to see them on and off the nest
