I´m sorry to say I can´t find any description of this place in English.  This is a part of a much larger Nature Reserve outside Katrineholm, called Skirtorpssjön. It contains natural features from the ice age. This hollow  formation is created by, what they call, dead ice. And there are three of them. The largest filled with water. There are old tales about a giant created them of course and one of the hollows is the giants sink. A GOOGLE map of the place can be found here

And this is the sign at one end of the Reserve.

  2. a beautiful trail! I rather like the story of the giant -- adds a bit of mystery or folklore to the place. :)

  4. Takk for lenkene. Det er stadig giganter og troll som har herjet rund i Skandinavia og endret landskapet.
    Fint sted.
    Ha en deilig dag.

  10. I just love to wallow in history. We have many glacial areas around us with hallows and huge rocks that were rolled along as the glacier made it's way down and left behind when it left. These are wonderful natural places and I love the loftiness of the tall trees as they stand guard over the slightly injured, but long recover land. Beautiful, Monica ...
