Thusends of selfies

When I was out walking today it started out dark. It had been raining and was still cloudy and with smoke from the heating plant. Not a great start.
B&W photo proj    Black and White weekend

Thousands of selfies I was not aware of
But the sun came out for a little while. I saw this spiders net and took a shot. When I looked at it on the computer I found I am reflected in each drop. To bad I only took one photo.

There are also tiny reflections in the drops on the aldertrees as they are backlit. It is fun to notice all the colors that comes from the alder cones.

  8. The serie is excellent, but I'm in love with the very first one : how you played with the fog to frame the perfect angle on this chimney is really incredible... Bravo.

  9. Your three photos are all spectacular and beautiful in their own right. Isn't it amazing that you can find such diversity and beauty on a single walk? I wasn't able to enlarge the spider photo to clearly see the reflection of you in each drop but the clarity is fantastic.

  16. I love your B&W. Very moody. I guess it reflected your mood.

Several years ago the Carnegie Museum in Pittsburgh had a great show of old B&W photos taken in the city. My favorites were the ones like this of the smokey city Pittsburgh used to be when it was filled with steel mills. Apparently there were days when there was so much dark smog, that the street lights had to be turned on during the day, yet they were nearly useless in the thick smoke. It's a lot cleaner and healthier now. Your photo reminded me of some of those great photos.
