Admiral!
At least I did see a few butterflies on my walk yesterday. Shot with my phone so not that great. The phone can take good shots but the problem is, it is hard to focus. This one was kind enough to sit still for a while.

Empty of birds. Yesterday I walked 8 km, rounded an entire lake and walked to another.
Empty of birds. Yesterday I walked 8 km, rounded an entire lake and walked to another.
There are usually mute swans, mallards, geese and cormorants swimming there. Yesterday it was totally empty. Not a single bird swimming. I did see and hear two Eurasian wrens (gärsmyg) but was unable to get any shot. I also saw two young wagtails. That´s all! And I was out for 3h.
This summer I have not seen, not even one, mallard chick! And adults are very few.
They say we have birdflue going on here. But, this empty?? It´s devastating.
And, I don´t have the car anymore but.......My boots are made for walking!
As the song sais.

This total absence of birds is very disturbing indeed.
ReplyDeleteHello,
ReplyDeleteTh Admiral is pretty, nice sighting. It is sad to hear the birds are not there, what is happening to them. Your Lion drawing is great. Thank you for linking up and sharing your post. Take care, have a great weekend. PS, thank you for leaving me a comment.
Nicely done. I cannot draw many animals!

Hello. Maybe the mothers are hiding their chicks and on the other hand, many birds are currently moulting, so they stay hidden?
ReplyDeleteI wonder sometimes when it is that way on some of our trails. Then I go back and the birds are there so it's hard to know what's going on. Love your lion and the beautiful butterfly!
ReplyDeleteTesting times for you. Hope the birds return soon.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing. Hope all well soon.
ReplyDeleteI hope the birds there are healthy, although no Mallard chicks for this year is not good news. Perhaps the food isn't as plentiful this year
ReplyDeleteThe lion is so beautifully drawn.
ReplyDeleteVery strange that not a single bird was seen during your walk.
That's really not good.
Greetings Irma
thanks!
ReplyDeleteLove your Lion, our Henry gives greetings!
