Black-tailed skimmer, male - Större sjötrollslända
Going for nature walks is not that fun anymore. Butterflies and dragonflies are still around but in much lower numbers.
Black-headed Gull & Common gull - Skrattmås & Fiskmås
Gulls seem to do just fine so far, at least in this little lake. In other places the lakes are empty of birds.
The forests are cut down rapidly so the images above will be, mayby already is, totally empty of standing trees.
There are two problems, the bugs and the environmental problems. With the dissappearing of the forest the animals also dissappears. I have not seen deers lately. Wich is strange. And the lakes are empty except for a few gulls.
I think from now on it will be more fun to post critters from my travelling days.

It is a very dismal picture that you paint, but it is sadly true throughout the world. If there is one at which humans excel it is destroying everything else.
ReplyDeleteCutted forest trees are a sad sight.
ReplyDeleteOh that's so depressing. Hope they plant more to compensate the cutting.
ReplyDeleteNice photos, too bad the trees are being cut down.
ReplyDeleteMan is destroying the earth itself, when will they realize this.
Greetings Irma
sad
ReplyDeleteI have also seen forests devastated by fire or by insect pests. And walked in a former habitat of birds that had all been killed by avine malaria in Hawaii (because the warning of the climate makes them more vulnerable). It’s such a sad sign of the ecological destruction of the planet.
ReplyDeleteBest… mae at maefood.blogspot.com
Snauhogst er ikke bra. Her i Norge er det mange som ønsker at vi skal gå tilbake til å ta ut enkelttrær i stedet for å ta alt på samme sted på en gang.
ReplyDeleteSad commentary. We are a consumptive species. Not sustainable.
ReplyDeleteI share your concerns. I rarely see a butterfly and although the bumblebees are numerous, honeybees have been absent. I think that the neonics are largely responsible and should be banned in the USA as I believe has been done in Europe.
ReplyDeleteThe butterfly sure is striking. And I hope they let the forest grow back and thrive. I love trees, as you know!
ReplyDeleteSadly nature in some parts of the world have been on a slow downward spiral for many years, apparently a rugby field's worth of forest is chopped down in the Amazon each week
ReplyDeletethanks!
ReplyDeleteIt's depressing to hear about forests being cleared and animals being pushed to extinction.
