A lone starling

There are a few coots in the dams and they are very active. So fun to watch and try to capture.

Starlings! There are supposed to be LOTS of the. On internet birdgroups I can see there are miljons in south of Sweden and rather many north of my area. I have seen only five so far. This is one of them. Last year they did not stay in my area because there was no food for them. Seem to be the same this year. ;(

Hello. Nice to know you have a lot of starlings. In Finland, they almost disappeared, but in recent years their number has risen again.
ReplyDeleteThere is an abundance of starlings here. Just yesterday we saw them competing with native species like woodpeckers for nest cavities. It's fun to see the coots too.
ReplyDeleteWowza amazing images of the coots. I love the sweet starling. They are gorgeous birds.
ReplyDeleteThe coots are very fanatical at this time and chase their congeners away.
ReplyDeleteThe starling is really beautiful.
Greetings Irma
