Bohemian waxwing

Bohemian waxwing!
This is one of my favorite birds. They come to my area only in winter to find berries to eat.
The image abow was taken a week ago. And this is how I usually see them. High up in treetops a rainy day.

These two images are several years old.
The birds needs sunshine to really "show off". And also they should be not too far away.

I really want some new sunny shots closeup of this beauty.

  2. It's a wonderful bird. When I lived farther north I saw them every winter, but I have only ever seen them once in Waterloo.

  8. I have only see waxwings twice; once at a state park where I worked, and once in my garden. They stayed for two days in my garden, and managed to eat every berry, leaving the branches quite bare. It was a site to behold.

  9. You have a wonderful view out that window! I'd be gazing out instead of getting my work done!

  10. A similar bird, the Cedar Waxwing, occasionally visits my neighborhood in the winter. I think they look like a group of superheroes watching over things.
