Thsi weekend my town celebrated what they call "City in light" / "Stad i ljus". Among other events there was an Ice artist and a Fire artist. Very different from each other.
The fire artist, Isak Bülow, danced below The Space which can also be seen in an earlier post. It was the first time I have seen one live.
The Ice artist Lena Kriström was creating two pieces of Ice art. In the image one is finished the latter is not. I was amazed as Lena only had such a tiny figure, size 1/20, to work from. You can see it on the table. Tomorrow it will be done. I talked to Lena and she told me she work at the ICEhotel, when she isn´t elsewhere creating ice art.

Wow, what an interesting event for your town. They really do work with totally opposite mediums! We saw ice sculpting in Alaska last summer at their ice hotel, but I have never seen anything like the fire one.
ReplyDeleteI would love to watch the ice sculpting event. Should be interesting! Have a wonderful Sunday!
ReplyDeleteThe ice artist must be chilly out there without a shirt. Brr. I like how you captured him in action. I would enjoy watching the ice artist work!
ReplyDeleteAmazingly, ice can burn you. :-)
ReplyDeleteGreetings from London.
Love the contradiction of fire and ice and the glint and glow of the captures, not easy at night.
