Whopper Swan in morning light  - Sångsvan i morgonljus
  NF Photo 130406 at Hornborgasjön

This weekend I´ve been to Lake Hornborga (Hornbogasjön) to look for the cranes and swans that stops at the lake during their migration up north. There are also geeze and ducks and whatever bird you like. This weekend there was about 1850 cranes and probably the same amount of Whopper swans. That is very low what the canes concerns. As far as I know there usually are at least 5 times that number. But this year the weather is too bad and the cranes is still in Germany and other countries further south. Waiting for the weather to change. There is hardly any open water in the lake and due to that very low number of ducks. But still we had a great weekend.
Enough for now! There will be other posts in the Birdblog and the Travel blog later on.

  18. Even though the weather has been cold here, migration (except for raptors) seems to be on schedule. I'm surprised yours is a bit behind. Our raptors are still waiting to fly north in large numbers though.
